They say that April showers bring May flowers, and with all the different events on my schedule this month, I can’t wait for everything to blossom in the coming months.
It was a non-stop few weeks… I did a wedding bootcamp at Zoom Academy , which is a weekend intensive course that comprises of two 12-hour days. It was very successful and we had lots double the attendance.
I also went to our monthly meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Dorval, with my fellow wedding planners, AMPWD where we were thrilled to discover new floorplan software MagicPlan to use from our iPad. It is awesome – the owner came to give us a workshop lunch and learn and now we have a new way to do floorplans without any glitches. It’s going to be very useful.
I accompanied two brides to a blow-out wedding dress weekend sale for SB Soiree held at Embassy in Laval. I’ve been working on my incentive program, and I’ve been coordinating a 40th anniversary for a company that will be held on a yacht in August.
It’s also finals time at LaSalle College where I teach, meaning another session is over. Before this, we had the privilege to visit Centre Mont Royal (CMR) with Luis Ribeiro, Director of Sales & Business Development, extraordinaire .
At the end of the month there was the last Bridal show of the year Glamourous Bridal Brunch at Plaza Volare.
My great assistant Jennifer is in training and will replace me when I’m double or triple booked, so I’ve been showing her the ropes.
And a few noteworthy sidebars – one of my colleagues met Oprah during her visit to Montreal, which I thought was very cool.
And I was WOWED by the new addition to the Eaton Centre in Montreal – it’s the Grevin Wax Museum and I’m told it’s the first place in North America to have a permanent exhibit like this. It’s a very neat place to check out. I got published again, (in hard copy) the Montreal Guides edition of The Planner magazine.
So that was my April in a busy nutshell. May is shaping up to be another hectic month… but I’ll love every minute of it!
